Kristie Lu Stout is an award-winning anchor and correspondent for CNN Iinternational,having joined the network in 2001.Stout hosts the network's morning program "CNN Today"from CNN's Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong."CNN Today"was awarded "Current affairs program of the year"at the prestigiousAsia Television Awards,whilst Stout herself won the award for"Best news presenter or anchor".She has reported live from Tiananmen Square in Beijing to cover the city's preparetions for the 2008 Olympic Games,from Tokyo on Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's historic visit to Japan,and live from Shanghai during CNN's "Eye on China" week of special programming.Prior to "CNN Today" Stout was CNN's technology correspondent and host of the daily "Tech Watch"segment.In eight years since joining the network she has consistently reported on high-tech developments.Her career in journalism started in San Francisco at Wired magazine's online division.Stout has written on technology for various media outlets including the South China Morning Post where she founded and wrote the"Beijing Byte"column.Stout holds bouth a bachelor's and a master's degree from Stanford University and studied advanced Mandarin Chinese at Beijing's Tsinghua University.
